An 17 year old female patient complaining of recurrent painful ecchymoses was diagnosed as psychogenic purpura. Although its etiopathogenesis has not yet been clarified, psychogenic purpura is an interesting syndrome implying a clear cut connection between psychosocial stress factors and organic pathology. In this paper, the case, also diagnosed as treatment resistant anemia is presented and related psychopathological factors are investigated.
