The presence of panic disorder in children and adolescents and the similarities with the adult panic disorder is a subject of discussion. The characteristics of panic disorder in children and adolescents have been recently investigated by case reports ad retrospective studies. In this study, 4 girls ad 4 boys between ages of 10-16 with the diagnosis of panic disorder were evaluated in terms of symptomatology, treatment results and similarities with adult panic disorder. The evaluation of cases indicated that the children and adolescents have panic attacks similar to adults’, DSM-IV adult diagnostic criteria can be used for children and treatment methods and their effects showed resemblance with the adults.
